choosing filter to house convicts

i need some info regarding a filter for a 30gal. tank

my options are either:

1. an internal

2. a hang-on filter

I find the "hang on" filters to work better. Just my personal opinion. Cons like to dig, move substrate, etc....so if the filter is hanging, they cant bother it.....does that make sense???? ;)

One of the best hang on filters (IMO) is the aqua clear. And for a 30 gal my suggestion is a 200 or 300 preferably 300. They are easy to clean and maintain.
