Did you find a good heater yet? If it's for your 55 I suggest two 200 watters. I just buy what ever is on sale, not sure of their names. With two heaters in there you don't have to worry about over working one or the other on those cold nights. Plus it will heat faster so they don't run as long thus saving onpower usage.

wal-mart has the 30-60 for about 15-20 dollars usally, i am going to check at the store up the road b/c she gets used stuff all the time and its brand new and ppl just don't want it anymore. she got a 120 gal for $600 bucks!!!!!:eek: and that was stand tank heaters lid lights and filters and some other stuff. i wanted it soooooooooooo bad. didn't have the room for it though. i don't have a 55 i have got a 90 tank, so i don't know if 200 watts makes a difference or not? and the great thing about wal-mart is i am in there sooooo much 90 day warrenty dosen't applyt to me. well thanks for the info. and Tug whats with the whole "hug trees"? not turning into a tree hugger are we?:D

Sorry, for some reason I thought you had a 55. For a 90 use 300 watt, you have 35 more gallons than what I was thinking. Still use two, I think the whisper ones at Wal-mart are only 200 watts, but I'm not sure.

I only paid 650.00 for my 120 set up. That was tank, stand, lights, gravel, (2) emperior 400 biowheels, and some artifical plants.

you lucky son of a gun. well i gusse i will have to take a feild trip to the pet store and get some new heaters. i am not all to worried about it at this moment in time i think it will last till summer.....i hope. and you are so lucky to have got two emperor 400's with that set up. stilllearnin has them for $50 bucks at his web-site. they are like $90 bucks at a pets store we went to last week. i am probley going to get one from his site when i get the money....................and don't worry i know pluntey of ppl who hug trees, they all live at this place together, maybe you have heard of it. it's called Shaddy Dale Sanatarium..... :redlaugh:
