I got a black ghost knife not long ago and put him into my 55 gallon. I thought he was a happy guy! He swam around and ate flakes from the top.

I came home the other day and half of his tail was bitten off. I couldn't figure out what fish had done it. I got my fiance to go out and buy some Melafix for him. We came home today and his whole tail was bitten off.

I immediately got my fiance to do fix up our 10 gallon guppy tank with plants and hiding places. Before we put him in, I saw my electric yellow (I HATE that fish) take a big bite. He bit his front fin off. He also took a big chunk out of my baby Frontosa!

So now my ghost knife is in the 10 gallon medicated tank. He can't swim. I don't know if he will make it. 

I really liked him too! He's so cute, and I know he gets really big, and I was excited. I've never lost a fishy yet!!!

I really don't want my electric yellow "pair" (I was told it was a pair, but I don't think so). I want to get rid of them, I didn't like them from the beginning. Now I need someone to take them off my hands!

Sorry to hear that, Amy.  It's one of the most maddening things about experimenting with fish combinations.

Sadly he did not make it. RIP poor little black ghosty. I'll have to find another one, I really like them.
