I was wondering, can anybody give me everything I need to knoe on raising a pleco? I'm getting one that is starting out small he is like 2 and a half inches long. Also how do you tell male from female?
I would apreciate any help.

Hmmm. That link tells me all that i need to know. I think i might go with a more smaller fish. Those guys get up to 18 inches long. What about a siamese algae eater? Anybody know any good advice on those guys?

I'm going to move this into the generall freshwater forum.

As for breeding plecos, I have read that its near impossible to recreate the habitat they need to breed in the aquarium.

I don't have the slightest clue about algae eaters. Good luck, though.

Maybe I can do some research later today, but I don't have time now.
