Hi,
I work at a large corporate pet retailer as assistant manger.  I landed the postion because I have a solid work ethic and real dedication to the animals in our care.  I am very dissapointed in the in-store training provided, most of our employees are either misguided or completely uneducated about a lot of the species we sell.  I have been delving deep into training books and brushing up on company polices, as well as researching from both reliable and unreliable sources (you can imagine the grief I go through trying to distinguish between the two), only to feel I am not absorbing as much knowledge as quickly as I should.  I realize an education isn't free, and that "lucky breaks" are few and far between.  I hope that by reaching out to groups I might catch an expert's attention, if you pride yourself on your knowledge of cichlids and are willing to give me a few pointers, please email me.  And let me just filter out anyone that is just full of it-please don't waste your time or mine, I have already had my share of big headed phonies blowing a lot of smoke and giving me bad advice.  Thank you for reading my comment!

You may find it helpful if you single out some fish your looking for more info on. I and many others on forms are no "experts" but we try to be as informed on our fish as we can be and are glad to spread the knowledge.
