Hey everyone, I just thought it would be nice if we said a little about ourselves. I wonder what people are like and where they are from when I'm reading a message, and I'm too lazy to click on view profile all the time! Image If you wanna say a little something, please do!

I'm 24, 2 children- 1 is 3 yrs and the other is 8 1/2 mos, married, Live in PA, and Stay at home with the kids. My interests are my kids, my fish, and the computer. Lately I seem to have become the "apartment neighborhood computer fixer-upper!" LOL, and hubby's the one who went to school for it!
That's about it for me, see ya later!

Jen

P.s. Joe, I hope I didn't outstep my bounds, I was just a little curious. Image

OK.
I'm a Paramedic Safety Medic. I see all the blood and guts almost every day. I work on an ambulance in the middle of the sticks up near MS. Yea dileverance alright. From wrecks to my toe hurts, I get 'em 1st! Yea real fun. The only bad thing is it's really a strain on you mentally & physcially. As a matter of fact I have to have arthoscopic surgery on my knee in 2 days! Go figure. So you will see me posting and researching the hell out of everything the next few weeks. I'll be out of work for a little while!

That sounds like a tough job. Before I had my baby, I was a nurse aide in a county old folks home. I changed poopy diapers and fed dinner, and baby-sat 70-102 yr olds with every degenerative disease imaginable! I can only imagine what it would be like with younger people! I feel for you.

Hey Joe, you said you are a systems analyst? My hubby went to school for an IT Technician but he can't find any jobs locally. I told him he should take a certification test in something and go for an analyst. Would that qualify for enough education or experience? Or would he have to "work his way up"? He currently works in a hospital as an IT Tech, but he says he does more clerk work than tech work. The position used to be a clerk, but since they added a help desk, it's now a tech. He get's paid clerk pay and I think it sucks... Any thoughts?

Hi Jen,

Your husband needs to decide first of all what is most important, money or piece of mind. He can make $50/hour or better for full time work if he wants to be slaved by a Staffing agency(the staffing company would charge the client company $80-100/hr). But of course you have to save for the "dry" seasons, no security in terms of "no benefits" more or less. Or going to work for a well-to-do private company, more comfortable, less changes, but still they'll work you like a dog. For a family man who doesn't who doesn't love money THAT much I recommend sticking to a more relaxed job even if you get considerably less $$. I never took any "Certifications", I just had experience to show and happy companies I've worked with etc...my schooling is a BS in Biological sciences with specializations in molecular biology and biochemistry and a minor in computer science. If he is finding it hard to "find" a job, YES certifications WILL Definitely help. Has he searched for jobs on online search engines dedicated to jobfinding? hotjobs.com and stuff like that? I found a great job for my friend like that, and I was paid $250 from that "head-hunting" company for recommending my friend. Does your husband like studying, hitting the books, memorizing etc..?(lots of fishermen don't Image Anyway, not sure how much experience he has, so don't know what I would recommend certification wise, A+, MCSE, or cisco....get him on here sometime Image
I can create a private forum where we can chat in etc...

I'm 19 and I am working on a B.S E.S in Aquaculture. I intend on finishing this degree(early maybe) and trying to get into grad school at UMB. Then I intend on solving all of the world's oscar problems including where HITH really comes from and genetically engineering a smaller oscar. Then I 'm going to try for a Ph.D.

Hi Luke,

Hey seems we're all about the same age here! Guess we fit the Internet-geeks profile. Also, video-editing and compositing with 3d art is another of my hobbies.
