do a good vaccum of the gravel.
If its aquarium safe thermonter, they dont use mercuary.
Oscars are good at breaking them, watch out for your heater. They love them too which is a good reason for a heater guard

I went thro a couple heaters before I got one that is held in place with the suction cups. I think it helps cause if they bite at it ,it doesnt bang against the glass. They cost a bit more ,but well worth it in the long run Image

Mine just broke their thermometer about a month ago and I had the same problem with the metal beads falling into the gravel... it's nothing to worry about the beads are either lead or stainless steel and either way pose very little threat to the fish, if you can just try and sift them to the bottom of the gravel to avoid accidental ingestion, they wont come up in a gravel vac because they are too heavy.

I'd do my best to get the lead out the tank, lead is a highly toxic metal. All fishing lures these days have to have warning labels if they contian lead, I know that many California lakes (if not all) have a ban on using lead weights in the waters. For fear that people will just throw them in the water when they done with them. MGHGrand

As long as you can get most of it you should be okay tho. Not a whole lot else you could do short of completely draining it,cleaning it,and getting all new gravel hehe
