i juat got a new tiger oscar and to my suprise he has black spots on his gill area what could this possibly be any ideas just let me know thanx

Hard to tell without seeing the fish.  Can you post a pic?  There is a parasitic disease that manifests as "black spots".  Might not hurt to pick up a parasite med.  Be sure to follow instructions on the package precisely.
