Greetings, I recently purchased my first Oscars!! A wee little Tiger & a Red 'bout 4" long. Also, have a Yellow Devil and a smaller 'Cossy in the same tank. So far so good, but the buggers won't eat any of the "floating" food I purchsed. Any tips & hints are welcome. If it's "Old Hat" to most, feel free to E-mail..... Daniel.

If they're 4" I would try feeding them something like cichlid pellets. Or, better yet but also more expensive, live food. I haven't tried that one yet. But seeing as how I have no job I don't have no cash. Oh well. Image

Oscars will eat ANYTHING, especially if it is alive. Try feeders, raw shrimp + fish, worms, etc. A diverse diet is the best but stay away from raw red meat. I have 4 Oscars (2 of them 13"!) All are healthy, BIG, and happy, they like what they eat.

Yep, I agree feed them LIVE stuff if possible. Some weeks ago after a little rain, I found plenty of worms in cracks on my driveway. The oscars LOVED the worms...watching them eat "live" stuff is more fun anyway Image
