Well tank conditions are a priority if you want them to breed so I wouldnt stop vaccuming the bottom, though if I am wrong on this one someone please correct me. They cant usually actually breed until they get to 7-10" and you didnt mention how long your O's were. They will often "flirt" when they are younger, they just are mature enough to really do it. Also they do tend to like to lay on flat pieces of slate, sounds like you put one in, but if they prefer the bottom glass there is nothing you can do about it. Let us know how it goes, and if you get them to breed... we have had quite a few people the boards who's fish just bred so maybe they can give you a little more advice.

THANK YOU ADAM, they are 7-8 inches long and have plenty of pics..i took the angels out but catfish is still in there, i just feel bad for the plucasumas in a ten gallon tank with all the feeders and 2 angeles now,,,,btw the angels where raised on feeders, so hope they know there limit.but it looks like any day now i will be grandma,,now they just lay at bottom.....i was going to to a divider tommorrow for when it happens but i think i will have to go get another 55 gallon or bigger. i have a little 5 gallon with goldfish feeders and had to put my silver dollar n with them!....feel bad but my oscars come first. i am just so nerverse! lol thanks again!

Hi noangel,

Thanks, got your pics in the email. You just need to be patient with them, if you have a male and female it might take them awhile to lay eggs for the "first" time. Just let them grow another inch or if you see them working hard at cleaning a piece of rock you can follow some of the things I posted on here before about how to help "trigger" spawning. Just do a search on this bbs for like, "trigger", "eggs", tubes, genital papillae, distilled water, ovipositor, etc...
