Hello, we named our oscar "Jack" because when I first bought him, my husband kept calling him a Jack Dempsey. The Jack just kinds stuck! He's now known as Jack the Oscar! Although my oldest daughter thought Oscar the Grouch would be cute!

That would be a nice name for a female With my luck, I'd get another male! Jack and Harry? LOL I once had a hamster named Jonathon! LOL

Well, if you get them when they're a good size, you can go shopping for a female, that's what I did and the rascals won't stop breeding! saw some eggs earlier today again, took out their rock and they're trying to lay them on the slippery bottom of aquarium and they won't stick and yea they've been malnutritioned this week and water/tank quality is bad too go figure......

By the way, the salmon are running prety heavily now too.... Must be the time of year. Hubby said the streams in Erie are packed!

Hey get him on here sometime, I love "fishing" also believe it or not
Does he go on long/far fishing trips? I like fish, especially boneless ones, hate messing with too many bones. I still remember that great taste of the cut-throat trout 10minutes after we got them off the hook (from Yellow Stone park lake...)

You know this would be easier in the chat room! LOL He goes about 3 1/2 hours one way for sometimes just a day...He used to go for 3-4 days at a time....And any vacation we take, he has to go to Erie, and of course, check the streams! LOL

I Think I will name my Oscar Jaws!!
Just the other day I put ten feeder fish in the tank so it could eat them when it was hungary but it ate them all in 1 hour. What a greedy fish!! I know people say that Oscars eat a lot but my other Oscars will eat about 4 and leave the rest for the next few days. I will have to put a few in next time!!
