my tank get cloudy

Postby milenko on Sat Dec 13, 2003 12:49 am

hello i have a question about my 55 gallon tank in which i have 4 Oscars....i have two redfire and two blueberry Oscars.my question is that my tank gets cloudy every 3 weeks, i have the best duel filters that pumps 300 gallons an hour but yet its still gets dirty.i have had my tank for two months now and i clean it every week with a gravel cleaner because Oscars do dirty the tank really good and i do replace the water when it get low from the top.i feed my fish once a day..I'm lost on why its gets very cloudy..do you have any suggestion?? thank you . wrong forum :) (kind of late but I'd recommend a finer filter, maybe some activated carbon, finer media filters will filter out small particles that make the water cloudy....)(there's also special solutions that clump the small particles together(sticks them together) so filters can take them out easier.)

Try a Vortex Diatom Filter for tank maintance. It will micro scrub the water and leave it crystal clear. Make sure that the model you aquire has the Vortex P-29 Recharge Valve. If not, purchase one. It makes using a Diatom much easier.:)

How big are those Oscars? 4 of them in a 55 isn't going to work for long.
