My pair of Oscars that I can't stop from breeding

Postby Elana on Wed Nov 22, 2000 11:35 am

This is serious. I am really worried about my oscars breeding behavior. Is this normal
for them to breed every two weeks. It is going on 4 months now. I have a 135 gallon tank, my husband is going to make me a tank divider thinking that the reason they keep doing this is because there eggs get eaten. Hopefully, once they have their fry, they will slow down a little bit.. Please,, any advice would be very nice... thanx.

Hi Elana,

As thomas said it is normal. I had a pair that bred about every 2 weeks. I though did get swimming "fry" from them before so I knew I really did have a female and a studly male. See if you can keep the eggs from getting eaten so that you can find out if you have 2 females or if male is fertile etc...
