You mean he inflicts all that damage on himself without any other fish in the tank to bother him? does he usually spook easily?

Sometimes if someone bangs the doors on the wooden frames he get's scared, or if I'm trying to net him. He does splash a lot at night though, usually I just find things moved around, but this time he was all banged up. I was sleeping, and so were the kids and hubby wasn't home. It was completely dark.....just him and about 2 feeders. (one could have been hiding)
His gouges just barely missed his nostril! I don't know what his problem is...

Oh yea....he was mad at me the other day..I rooted a plant in his tank through a hole in a rock. You can't get the plant out, well, he can't. He ripped all the leaves off though. I've got an interior decorator for a fish!!
