i noticed her mouth is swollen last night. i watch them everyday, i 'm pretty sure it just happen yesterday. her mouth is swollen, i had seen her dancing around with the male. Now her belley is not so big, but her mouth is swollen.

1. should i move her immediately to her own tank ?
2. should i or should i not feed her in her own tank ?
3. how long before stripping or expect to see her release ?
4. so the eggs would become fry in her mouth ?

5. what if a second female starts to hold too ? should she goes to her own tank too ?

first time seeing pregos cichlid.. very excited grandma - me :-)

please answer... i am so excited.

hi maribelt....ok,when her bouchal pouch is full of fry and she has stopped eating remove her to another tank.
after about 14 days she will spit out the fry and will loose interest almost imediatly in the fry.
staight away return her to her main tank.feed the new fry(which will be quite big) on crushed flake.
you should get about 12 or more fry.

i got 11 fries last Sunday. I notice one got sucked up into
the filter screen, so i quickly remove the AC filter, and the
mommy. the 10 surviving ones are growing ;-)
