no only joking at the end of the day we can make suggestions and you guys descide whats right for the forum if you think its best to keep them thats fine just trying to think of more user friendly ideas . the reason i suggested losing those sections is out of all those members we have how many actually even look at those sections? I know i dont thats why i suggest just using the small talk section it says no fish in the title and wouldnt all those specialist sections class as no fish and take up less server space?
plus i think if they were all under one heading more people would be inclined to take a little look even if it doesnt interest them, they just wouldnt go to individual sections to look:sumo:

Actually my main concern was that I didn't want to lose any of the posts under any forum we would delete and before it was a pain in the butt to move threads for african forum we deleted BUT I just found there's a "Mass Move" in the admin panel so I'm ok with it now as long as we save all the threads maybe move them all into the Chit-Chat forum.....

Oh yea, Removing/Moving forums or keeping things as is will not really make any difference in Server space resources, text doesn't take much space, graphics, pictures etc use most of it. This site was started on an old Pentium I 133Mhz or 200Mhz can't remember now it's on an amd k6-2 so it'll be time to upgrade again soon anyway

I've moved the Chit-Chat forum under the Fish forums, ie

what about - Just removeing the other catagories from the main forum page ? and leaving the link?

Like now the header of the "Other HOBBIES and INTERESTS" goes to the other non-fish forums

Could that header/link be left but the individual sections be off the main forum page That would leave those forums in tact but also take them off the main page.

yea, I know what you mean and that would be good but not sure if the forum will let us do that without 'hacking' it...

there's a bunch of them in the http://www.cichlidfish.com/portal/forums/images/smilies/moreSmilies path when using 'Add' in the smilies section of admin panel. You'll probably want to change the how many to display from 7 to like 100 or so to minimize on how many pages they are spread....

check the "other forums" section and see if that works for you?

I just did a couple to see how it'd work - click on Non-fish,I found the forums can be compressed if you do it like that.
Just did a couple to try it they can all be moved like that or put back. ALL the forums and posts are still intact with nothing deleted that way also

ok, not sure if I follow, do you mean the 'other hobbies etc.." i just clicked on it and didn't really notice anything different or am I missing something

Under other hobbies I made a forum catagory
non-fish and put RC,paintball and target shooting in it, just to see how it'd work

Oh, thanks, I see it now, what threw me off is that I was expecting some indentation showing up for subcat/subforums. Looks fine to me....
