i put together a fish tank for our daughter when she was in 6 th grade. She graduated in 05 from high school.We have one cichlid left from 5.He has lasted years longer than the rest.Is this normal.

Which?  The other ones dying, or this one still living?  More seriously, yes.  Cichlids can live about as long as a dog.  Some variation between species of course, and due to good or poor care, disease, diet -- most of the things that concern all of us.  What kind of cichlid is it?  Is it your daughter's pet, or do you care for it?  It's certainly had a nice, long life.  Tell us more!
