Golden Severum

Postby phiphtie on Mon Oct 20, 2003 6:40 pm

Hello to all,

I have two full grown Golden Severums. These are a breeding pair that have layed their eggs lately about 4 times in the last 2 months but the problem is the eggs keep dieing.
I have bred these fish before and I do have several grown up baby fish from these parents. But my question is, why do my fish eggs always go from a fertilized egg and then turn into a white dead egg? If anyone knows about breeding these fish any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help,

Corey

If your sure they're fertile to start with (you see them start to develope).

Check your water and water hardness

If your just considering they're good because they're not starting off white (bad) in the beginning could be a few things like

male <-- past his prime?
poor diet,lacking something somewhere?
Improper temps?
something (heater, filter etc..) letting electrical current out into the water?
GH -- super high?

Thats all that comes to mind off hand, good luck fixing the problem
