Haven't tried keeping shrimp with fish since my teen-age days. Don't remember how it worked out, so probably not very well. I'd be more concerned for the shrimp being picked on than the tiger barbs. The drawback in general of keeping invertebrates with fish is most of the meds that you're likely to need to use on your fish will kill the inverts, so you need to have a way to take them out of the tank during treatment. Ends up being sort of a pain.

well im not really worried about the barbs attacking them. cuz i have enough plants(live) to hide the bigest shrimp. an i could spend an extra 30 secs or so takin acouple lil shrimp out so they dont meet their maker. an if in the long run they do die...oh well ill be sad but hey they only cost 28 cents :D
