CichlidFish.com - Fish That Think.

Hi , I have a question, my year old cichlid has just started to get the shakes i have never seen this before and i am a little worried. It looks like he is having a seizure.(do fish do that?) Does anyone have any idea of what may be wrong?

My African Cichlids - Psuedotrophlous Salinas and even my Red Devil do this. Its a sign of territory. Its also a sign of frustration, kinda like a 6 year throwing a temper tantrum. Warning other fish to stay away from his/her area. He/she could also be marking his or her territory. Some move gravel in this manor to make a resting place. Its very normal behavior for Cichlids.

when the fish is unhappy (or trying to mate) they do it to. Oscar does this during and after water changes.
