finally! they did it

okay my oscars just laid eggs and i dont know how to tell if they are fertile or not and i was wondering how long before they hatch. also one more thing should i do a water change becuase it is time for their weekly water change. any advice will be helpful, thanx in advanced.

im not sure but i think if there yellow then they have been fertilized.

kool, the eggs do look brownish but i noticed that the eggs are like half gone since last nite. did they eat them or soemthing?

again im not sure cuz i havent dealt with this situation before but from what i have read oscars somtimes eat the eggs im not sure why though. hopefully someone with more knowledge than i can help you.

im okay but i was wondering how soon until another batch of eggs. next time im gonna remove the eggs and do it that way . or should i give them a couple more trys cuz i read that it can take a couple trys until they get it right.

get used to it... young adults will eat the eggs quite a few times until they get it right... have the 2 grown up together? Also... you might have 2 females and dont know it yet... if thats the case you won't ever get get frye. Good luck though:)

yea the two did grow up together, but im sure there is one male and one female cuz the eggs were like brownish tannish color. isnt that the color of being fertile?

I don't think you're going to immediately see any noticeable color differemce between fertilized or not. I remember my O's as starting out being clearish tan I think. After one successful hatch I split the pair because it was too hard to get the ones that made it to a buyer.
