CichlidFish.com - Fish That Think.

I am getting a new 10 gallon tank and it will be stocked almost to the maximum. Which filter should I get?

- Penguin 125 w/biowheel (125 GPH)
- Penguin Mini w/biowheel (100 GPH)
- Aquaclear Mini (100 GPH)

Aquaclears are the cheapest but I have never had an Aquaclear. I have many Penguins and trust them and that is why I don't know about getting Aquaclears. Any suggestions? BTW, are the foam sponges for Aquaclears sufficient Mechanical filteration? How does the media fit into the Aquaclears? Thanks for the help.

Out of those I'd get one of the penguins with the biowheel. I found the biowheel to be pretty good especially in my no substrate(rocks etc..) tanks.

Which would you get? 125 or Mini?

Id go for the 125

Aquaclears are good but for a sole source of filtration I would go with the 125 with the bio wheel this will be alot more efficient for you, esp if the tank is going to be well stocked.
