just wondering how often do oscars lay their eggs.because about three and a half weeks ago after a water change they laid but nothing eventuated. Now they have laid again after a water change. Eggs on both times were beige.just this time the eggs are more arranged and they both are alot more agressive.

egg laying

It depends:
- on the individual pair
- on the temperatures
- on the feeding
and other variables

Most of mine when I remove fry or wigglers - spawn on average of every 12-18 days

If I leave the fry with the parents for a while and let them care for the fry ,then they spawn about every 6 weeks

Then I have one oddball pair that has no type of pattern at all.sometimes they'll spawn 3 times in a month - but they'll also go 5-6 months without spawning at all.
