I just got a large peice of drift wood for my tank. It was in another tank but it was taken out and now i'm trying to soke it again. The problem....I think it's turning my water yellow? It's a new setup so I'm not too sure what's doing it? What do you guys think? How can I pervent this?

Sounds like the drift wood hasnt finished leaching out the tannins. Theres no harm and some people (myself included) like the colour.
You can use carbon in the filters for a while and clear the water or soak the driftwood in bleachy water for a day or two, rinse extermly well and let it sit in the sun to dry.
If it didnt discolour the other tank then it sounds like it wont be too long b4 the tank clears,if you do nothing.

Hey Hipnotized, I know it's frozen now where you live, but when I was soaking my driftwood to put in my tank I put it in a 5 gallon bucket and weighted it down with a brick and every day I would run the hose in it and replace the water in the bucket and after a couple of weeks it was completely soaked and all the discoloration was gone. yes it is froozen here....lol....how can I get the colour out of the tank now? just remove the drift wood and do a couple water changes?? the weird thing is the drift wood was in the tank before when I got the tank....but it dryed for a couple weeks? would that bring the colour back?
