DIY small sump

Postby GMAN on Sun Jun 05, 2005 11:13 am

well im all done and it seems to work great. I made an overflow out of a spare elbow left over from my xp3 and a strainer glued on it . Simple but works great. I added a flow adjuster to the incoming tube and i set the flow and so far so good. It has been running for 12 hours now. I have overflow set close to surface so if power goes out siphon is lost quick so i dont flood sump out. I have one question when power is restored how do i keep pump from coming back on and running dry? Some kinda tripper mechanism out there? This is only flaw i see so far.

Or how can i make a continuos siphon cheap and easy?

This is a record for smallest sump ever lol5.5 gal,But it is perfect for a 20g tank
