Crappy heaters, Sequel to crappy powerstrips,

I can't tell what brand heater that is but I have had a couple of heaters get broken by my Oscars.
Thats why I use only Ebo-Jager submersable heaters. The glass is thicker than most and makes it more durable.

No this wasnt broken by oscars, it was in my african tank with a heater guard and the thermostat must have overheated and simply cracked the glass at the thermostat end of it
Its a Ginimum 200watt made in china and only 5 months old.

I got old heaters Ive had for years that you have to pull apart at the top to adjust the temp with a screw driver and never have any troubles with them

Tony,v you having trouble also. @#$%%^&^&*#@%$#@%#@%$@!$

Happend to me the other day....wish I woulda took a pic.

heater snapped in half and was shooting sparks everywhere....And the stupid breakers didn'tr catch it (they will catch if I turn on a vacum but don't serve thier purpose! I was electricuted (hurt like a mother ******) Then just yesterday I had a pump go wrong and was electricuted there to......I feel really enerjetic Image

unfortuneately the sparks melted a hole in the wetdry and I had 20 gallons of water on the floor when I woke up. Luckly the idiots at petwarehouse have sent me 2 free wet/drys because I complained about a crack (that I fixed anyway :-D) so I had an extra wet/dry.

One of the two that went up in flames had a warranty and I'm getting a new pump but the lfs said screw me basically. It was a silica glass heater can't find the brand on it.

"Fish tanks are calm and realxing. When you come home from work you can just sit in front of it and relax. You'll forget all your problems when you are watching your aquarium."

This is what I was told when I got into fish.....what a joker.

"fish tanks are calm and relaxing."---yeah if everything in thier little fishy world was perfect it would be--and when will that ever happen?

"When you come home from work you can just sit in front of it and relax."---really since when? ? ? ?

". You'll forget all your problems when you are watching your aquarium."---thats because the aquariums have problems of thier own! Image

mel......what are you doing on this board on vac.?? you are supposed to have fun on your vac.....fish will not help......stay away......you had to know there would be something right? Image Image
