Convicts-911!!

Postby fisherman on Mon Oct 27, 2003 4:43 pm

I've got tiny white "worms" all over the glass inside my 10 gallon convict tank. They've got about 200 wigglers so I want to know if I can treat the tank and what is safe to use for these. Are they harmful?

Thats nothing to be worried about, its just a sing that you have to much substrate or to much waste in your substrate. These little worms feed off of the waste produced by your fish.
I used to have the same problem when my substrate used to be thick. I then removed it down to about 1" or less and I vaccumed on a regular basis and I have never had the problem since.
Don't worry they can't hurt the fish, it's just a sign that there is to much waste in the gravel.

Good Luck

That's good to know. I've read that if you put small fish in the tank they'll eat them(planeria). I guess 200 ravenous convict fry should do the trick, huh? Thanks much for responding, it's appreciated!
