hello i have 2 orange cichlids same size medium,1 blue and 1 red devil that's huge way bigger than they are but i brought them all the same size but i didn't study the fish first.  They are in a 55 gal tank with gravel, rocks, fake plants and a big fake tree branch to hide under and a medium size cave with holes in it.  Well the red devil start chasing them every where wouldn't allow them to eat they was running into the glass so i move one to a 10 gallon, and i put dividers up.  Well they move all the rocks and knock the divider down and they act like best friends for 2 days and it started back up.  so now i put the blue in 10 gal put the two small cichlids on ones side and red devil on the other, the red devil is pissed so again he is moving gravel trying to get to them so I took the fake plants out he was digging them up so  everyday i have to move the gravel back.  Now the 2 orange cichlids are fighting they flare up at the gills and they look like there kissing when they attack but they stay mad all day i don't see any cuts.  Have you ever heard of such??

Hi, Peaches, and welcome to the forum.  Also welcome to cichlid keeping!  The behavior you're describing is pretty normal.  Can't really tell from your description what your two smaller cichlids are, but the Red Devil would probably benefit from a larger tank.  He'd probably be fine in a 75 (all by himself).  The you could move the other fish into the 55, and maybe they'd get along.
