and if you "must" yes you can go ahead and use mIRC for the rest of your life

For those of you who have IM "instant messenger" ID's with AOL/AIM, ICQ, MSN, YAHOO, JABBER, and a gazillion other ones you may want to check out these free programs that consolidate all of those along with IRC as well. The best are GAIM, Miranda, and Trillian.

So now, to connect to the cichlidfish IRC channel, connect to IRC SERVER cichlidfish.com or chat.cichlidfish.com and join channel #cichlidfish

You may still like Miranda because you can connect to #cichlidfish IRC channel and to ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and Jabber all at the same time. And if someone joins the irc channel icon will flash or sound go off etc...but i guess you can configure mIRC for the same kind of notification when someone joins a channel or sends a message. The reason I recommended Visual IRC in the link above is becuase it has a 'whiteboard' which I'd like to test and even supposedly voice features....if you install it let me know so we can try out some of the features.

Its a shame that there isnt hardly anyone ever there when i have a look.
