Center brace on my tank broke, need help....

Postby Jim101 on Sun Feb 21, 2010 8:01 pm

The center brace on my 72 gal. bow front broke the other night, we just heard a "pop"..... Now what can I do to fix it? Any ideas? I'm thinking of making a lexon brace for it and using 2-part epoxy to hold it. Also I'm going to remove 20% of the water and use duct tape from front to back to hold the tank together while I place everything and let it dry for 24 hrs..... Any thoughts or pointers?

Thanks,

Jim

Sorry to hear Jim, were you able to fix it? not sure i have exact picture in my head of center brace, if you mean a horizontal brace or a vertical one to the floor...you can always just lay down some bricks as a 'stand' or just build a new one from two by fours etc...epoxy is pretty good and i've made good use of it in the past....have some pics of the fix?
