Catfish lost its eye!!

I think the other channel cat bit it off or it got burned by the heater....but his left eye is gone!!

will it heal over time or should i add something? he's in my quarantine/misquito fish tank.

he's 4"

Heaters dont get hot enough in the water to burn fish unless they are faulty.
Best to just keep an eye (no pun intended) on it for secandary infection and fungus. Adding some salt will help

I agree with Tony but you're really going to have to baby a fish missing an eye to keep from losing it to infection but also keep in mind about catfish being sensitive to meds and salt sue to their unique skin.

I would definately watch it closely... catfish are hardy fish generally speaking and I have seen several and heard of other fish that have lived fine with one eye. Some sort of antifungal, antibacterial medication might be a good precaution, but remember to dose slightly lighter as cats are sensitive to the meds as mentioned above.
