Gosh! what can U say about that word: CANCER... humm.. I could say a bunch being a breast cancer suviver WHO DID NOT DO CHEMO!! This was in 2001 and I am stil here.. WE lost some great ppl this last week and stil are it seems..

Pancreatic Cancer is always fatal in most cases.. FYI

He played the crazed nazi leader in the orginal "Blues Brothers".. And for us OLDIES, he was on "laught In" started in 1969. the Love Boat, Boston Legal and many more..

yea, it's sad ..... I always think about the World Wide Nuclear testing and nuclear radiation fallout that travels the entire globe. It's also amazing what a crazy increase we've had in earthquakes.

So did you do anything in particular to deal with the breast cancer in place of the CHEMO?

No not really. I did some radiation but the pain was so bad I stop.. I got in 2 weeks worth instead of 6 weeks daily (sunday off).. As it did not spread through the limp nodes under the armpit area, I did not do chemo.. (they removed 8 nodes to make sure!)

I lost most of my left arm steigth after the surgery due to that.. they could have done needle biops to see if the nodes where infected days before the surgery, but NO, they removed them, just in case U know.. (that is what they told me anyway!) My left hand swells sometimes if it is hot out and I am walking around.. That bothers me more than anything. I have to hold my arm up for 15 min or so, so it can drain.. My left hand now goes to sleep more now too if left in a down or like typing position for to long..

Limp nodes help keep your body water flowing, mine are mostly gone in that arm pit area so the fluid wil stay.. IF I had known that would have done this, I would have seen another surgeon and other ways on the limp nodes.. Live and learn here..

So they took 'all' the nodes in that area? I was thinking perhaps some of the others would do extra duty and pick up the slack...my aunt who died some years ago had leukemia and she said she had benefited very much from going to this place that put her on a lot of greens/juicing and cleansing but unfortunately she died from an infection from some catheter not long after that. Of course there are many who recommend very high vitamin C doses, and I recall reading of a woman with big tumor on neck that went away with just vitamin C and oranges, vitamins and 'sleep'. She thought the extra sleep she was getting was key.
As far as doctors, its ironic that we sometimes require more from our car mechanics but doctors are expected to be given a free hand to do whatever they think. Everything should be questioned and researched and a couple opinions gathered before allowing them to do anything...personally I think chemo is too risky for some cancers, at least radiation is localized and doesn't attack everything everywhere in the body good or bad. I'm curious, was your insurance HMO or PPO? (In other words, are your doctors employed by the same company that receives monthly checks towards 'health insurance' with them.)

I have my opinion on health care, that it definitely needs reform but 'real' reform not politics. (The current white house plan will be great for the big drug companies.) What we need is separation of "Health Insurance" and "Health CARE". It is an absolute conflict of interest for there to be any sort of agreement between the two and yet these days we have "Insurance" companies providing our "health care".
