basically, all the shrimp need are salt water (temp around 80), and something to aggitate them (an airstone). i think buying it would be a lot better than trying to raise your own because it is time consuming.

one method is to...
take a goldfish bowl fill it with saltwater, add enough airstones to keep the eggs moving and keep it around 80F.

if you dont have one, or want a DIY..
take a soda bottle and drill a hole in the center of the cap (big enough for an air tube). fill the bottle up with salt water and the brine shrimp eggs. in the cap, thread the tube through and connect an airstone (the airstone will be in the bottle). of course the other end of the tube goes to an air pump. cap the bottle tight, because you are going to turn it upside down (bottom facing the sky). turn on the air pump and to keep the temp up to 78-82. (you can do this buy sticking it in your tank)

another DIY idea that actually works better for me -

Use a 2 liter bottle as mentioned but cut the bottom off drop the airline and stone down to the bottom.

This way the caps still flat and sits easier and with the big opening a brine shrimp net fits right in.

-just another idea- same principles in general I've found the bottle methode works better then a fish bowl because all the eggs are moved with no dead water spots.

Read the directions on the eggs though I always hatched mine at 80-82 right in my tanks because it's simple and easy then I got a different brand (O.S.I.) and they wouldn't hatch worth a d:Dmn after I read the directions and turned the heat up (85-90 on those) the hatch rate went way up

Ok, I started everything, used a tank cause I have no soda cans.
When I put the shrimp eggs in, the air pump is blowing the eggs everywhere, is that suppost to happen? or they have to be on the bottom of the water.

you want them to be blown around, the ones that just sit on the bottom often don't hatch.
