hi can you help i have had a spawn a week ago and now have free swimming fry,i had to take the male out after 2 days as he was very aggresive towards the female and tried to take over the egg watch.I know i remove the female after 6 weeks but my ? is how long before i can put the female back with the male for another spawn ?.
do they have a cycle period like the gourami's(21 days)?
i have an albino male around 13" and a tiger female around 12" this is their first spawn i would say around 150-200 only and i would say 65% will be albino's hope you can help

Hi Kim,

Well, congratulations! And you'll be happy to know they will be ready again quite soon, usually around two weeks. Have any pictures?

Hi Kim.
Well if i was you i would hand rais the fry and put them back together because they lay in a cycle of around 14 days ,give or take a few days.Other wise if you leave the fry with the parents they will take longer to lay again and you stand a chance of the parents eating the young.
Regards savage oscar.
ps.you dont know any one whoi's got a tiger female oscar to sell 10-12 long .. regards...

You don't feed them much because you want to keep the tank clean? Sorry to sound harsh perhaps but either keep up on water changes and make sure you have adequate filtration or get rid of your oscars to perhaps someone who has time to meet their basic needs.

This is a freindly family sort of BBS
One more outburst like that towards anyone on this bbs and you will be banned. I do not tolerate extreme rudeness and swearing.

Yeah lets try and keep things civil here people this is not that type of forum. I think it is important to understand that everyone develops a method that works for them, so long as the fish are healthy, and are fed a healthy diet, I think that is the most important thing.

There are people here who are very passionate about their fish, and saying things like "i guess i don't feed them much" can be interpreted many ways. Remember the more information you provide the less chance of someone misreading what you say, and it really doesnt take that much longer to add a few little tidbits of detail to our posts. If you dont, then people are forced to assume and most poeple arent very good at it... hense the problem at hand... regardless response like that are unacceptable under any circumstances. And we dont tollerate them.

Phillip
I apoligize for misinterperting your message but there was no other way to take it. Re-read what you wrote, "I guesse I don't feed them much because Im anal about keeping their tank clean" How would you interpert that?
In reality you feed your oscars a good amount and work at keeping the tank clean. You are a responsiable oscar owner.
Sorry again about not understanding what you wrote.
