How much salt do i have to put in a 55 gallon tank for the fish to live, and
thrive. Can i put freshwater fish in there with them, like clown loaches, or black sharks,I also have a bumblebee cat,a pleco,
and 1 cory cat.thx.

Is live aquaria a good place to buy fish online?

where did u get the idea that u need salt for mollys, platys, and swordtails? if u meen aquarium salt (the kind used to heal wounds, kill parasites, and prevent disease in a freshwater tank) then it is 1 tbs/10 gallons. and yes other fresh water fish can live with a little salt. i got one question why r u using a 55 gallon tank for loachs, and livebearers? why not cichlids? lol Image

the mollys, platys, and swordtails arent brackish but it wont hurt to add 1 tbs/10 gallons salt anyway just to prevent parasites. do everything u can to get rid of the tiger shovel nose cause i read that they get 30 inches long!

yah, those things do get around 5 ta 6 feet. and platies, swords, guppies, etc are brackish i believe. they can live in fresh, brackish and (what i heard) even full blown saltwater
