I have 2 platinum angle fish in a 10 gallon tank with a bunch of other fish how many years would it be before they get too big and i have to buy a new tank? They are 1-2" tall and about 1" long.

In my opinion, and like I told you in the swordtail thread, it would take exactly 0 years.

Sorry, but I can't understand how anyone could exspect his problems to be solved by waiting till the fish die. Get them a bigger tank NOW, or find new homes for them.

AFAIK, platies and swordtails can live 2 to 5 years, plecos, other catfish and angelfish more than 10 years, and I think they all deserve a chance to reach their natural life span.

Gisela's right, time is up.
For 2 Angels you need a 20 gal TALL tank (V. a regular 20 gal). They are not that expensive . . .I could see if you had o save up for a 165 gal. or something.

And what types are in the "bunch of other fish"

Candice, the other fish were mentioned in the "Is it normal for swordtails ..." thread in the Cichlids forum.

Perhaps I sounded a bit, um, impatient - I apologize.

Only a month . . . theyare still young and growing. Ithas nothing to do with getting fatter. They get taller. thats why they need a tall tank
