A Faster way to cycle a tank?

Postby BrisvagasOscars on Wed Oct 20, 2004 6:00 pm

I have just fished reading an interesting article on a web page where the author uses the "primoidal stew", or the gunk in a pre-existing fish tank filter, to cycle his tank in around 8 hours.

I was wondering what you guys thought about it.

He mentions the risk of contamination if the primoidal stew has bacteria etc, but just how effective do you think this method is?

It's faster and easier to just move part of the filter media.
